Veterinary Medical Manipulation is the veterinary version of a chiropractic adjustment: it can help relieve pain, increase mobility, improve circulation, decrease stress, and improve immune function in pets. Every horse is a candidate for medical manipulation, but routine chiropractic exams are especially beneficial for growing horses, older horses and sport horses in any type of training or competition program. Fernandez Veterinary Services is excited to provide this service to equine patients in West Central Ohio and Northeast Indiana.

Dr. Anthony Fernandez is an equine Certified Veterinary Medical Manipulation Practitioner. He received his certification through the Chi Institute and the Integrative Veterinary Medical Institute (IVMI) in Reddick, Florida. This process required over 100 hours of coursework and hands-on practice over a 6 month period, followed by a multi-part certification exam. The IVMI program is the only medical manipulation course offered exclusively to veterinarians and has a specific equine focus, which allows for a very in-depth approach, and sets Dr. Anthony Fernandez apart from others who may offer similar services.  Since receiving his CVMMP certification, Dr. Anthony has enjoyed integrating medical manipulation training into practice, as it allows for a multi-modal approach to treat the whole horse.

By working with you, your trainer, and your primary care veterinarian, Dr. Anthony can help your horse be the best version of themselves, and perform to the best of their ability.

If you are in the West Central Ohio or Northeast Indiana region, and you are interested in having your horse evaluated for medical manipulation, we would love to hear from you! The initial evaluation of your equine companion can take place on your farm or at an event (fair, competition, etc.). Please contact Dr. Anthony at fernandezvetservices@gmail.com for scheduling, and/or with any additional questions you may have.
